Repository Data Model

Allow Traceability between projects lets you create traceability links between items that live in different projects β€” not just within one. Turn on the toggle and Save; from then on cross-project links become available.

For that cross-project traceability to actually be allowed and work, two conditions must be met:

  • The documents must be named exactly the same across the projects. Visure matches documents between projects by name, so a document in Project A and its counterpart in Project B have to share the identical name for a cross-project link to be possible.
  • The link relationship must exist between those documents in the repository data model. Just as a project data model defines which document-to-document links are allowed inside a project, the repository data model defines which links are allowed across projects. If the relationship isn't defined here, the link can't be created.

Use Edit Repository Data Model to define those cross-project relationships β€” it's the repository-level equivalent of a project's data model, and it's what makes item-level traceability between projects possible.
